National Security Agency / Central Security Services
The National Security Agency (NSA) is a national-level intelligence agency of the United States Department of Defense, under the authority of the Director of National Intelligence. The NSA is responsible for global monitoring, collection, and processing of information and data for foreign and domestic intelligence and counterintelligence purposes, specializing in a discipline known as signals intelligence (SIGINT). The NSA is also tasked with the protection of U.S. communications networks and information systems. The NSA relies on a variety of measures to accomplish its mission, the majority of which are clandestine.
The Central Security Services (CSS) is a joint military venture, integrating SIGINT vectors to produce tactical signals intelligence, cryptology, and information assurance. CSS utilizes each military branches unique collection capabilities (Ex. Naval sub-nautical wiretapping, Air Force satellite and drone imagery, etc.) and coordinates them to develop complex multi-agency clandestine operations.
While assigned to work at NSA/CSS Hawaii my primary duties included working with and coordination small tactical intelligence gathering teams, and cooperating across multiple government agencies to produce various cyber warfare deliverables. Mission types ranged from: long-term surveillance and collection on high value national security targets, directing and guiding Command-Wide Policy to protect high value assets (both digital and physical), and high-speed and volatile cyber exploitation operations.
Because of my time working in such a secretive environment I understand that the most important property a entity has is its intellectual property, there is nobody better for safeguarding IP than someone who understands that even the tiniest piece of information can quickly reveal a larger image.
